IT-Technical Project Manager (TPM)

Locations: Baton Rouge, LA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Des Moines, IA; Rosemont/Chicago, IL

Summary/Objective

The position of Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and managing IT-managed projects within budget. The TPM must be aware of client needs, company goals, and employee coordination to bring projects to completion. This individual will apply proven communication, organizational, and leadership skills to help technical staff maximize the benefit of IT systems investment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Plan, schedule and track the IT portion of project timelines, deliverables, milestones, and reporting.
  • Develop and utilize Kuvare standard templates and tools to manage project work within the Information Technology area.
  • Define scope, goals, and deliverables within IT in support of higher-level project plans and organizational goals. Collaborate with project managers, senior management, IT management, technology vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to effectively communicate project expectations and status to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, project business owners, SMEs, IT Development, QA, and vendors to ensure project deliverables and timelines are in alignment.
  • Proactively manage changes in technology, project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Work with IT managers and staff to document the resources and participants needed to achieve the IT portion of project goals. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Conduct project lessons learned within the IT area and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Develop business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.

Requirements

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, computer engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more (5+ years) of Project Management experience
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile development methodology and concepts.
  • Experience in overseeing the design, development, and / or implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong familiarity with applicable data privacy practices, regulations, and laws.

  • Limited travel (5-10%) may be required
