Structured Credit Analyst

Location: New York, NY

Summary/Overview

KIS is searching for an analyst to join the New York-based Structured Credit team to support the team in all aspects of managing the portfolio. Range of activities includes assisting with underwriting of new investments, surveillance of the existing portfolio, and creation of presentations used for internal and external stakeholders. Target markets include primary and secondary broadly syndicated CLOs, middle market CLOs, and private structured credit opportunities. The analyst will assist in the diligence, execution, and surveillance of new investments, as well as collaborate with the broader team on overall portfolio management functions as well as special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exhibit high attention to detail and discipline to produce error free and properly formatted work on a consistent basis with oversight and training from experienced portfolio managers
  • Assist in investment analysis to build competencies including transaction execution, investment due diligence, credit underwriting and portfolio surveillance
  • Follow various segments of CLO/ leverage loan markets and maintain internal trackers
  • Support team’s origination and monitoring efforts and tracking of deal-related data and documentation
  • Maintain deal market pipelines, creation of new investment memos and ongoing monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis of portfolio for 3rd party accounts and prospects
  • Prepare presentations and other materials for both internal and external clients
  • Assist senior portfolio managers with ongoing surveillance of existing portfolio, alignment with strategic asset allocation, assignment of investment risk ratings and ad hoc portfolio reporting
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Asset Allocation, Business Development & Product Strategy, Operations, Legal, Accounting, and Technology

Experience

  • College graduates with background in finance or similar fields are preferred and 1-3 years of experience in related occupation
  • Demonstrated interest in finance and investment management
  • Excels in the role of team player, with willingness to exceed expectations and grow

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience building excel models/data analysis with pivot tables highly desirable
  • Experience or knowledge of CLOs, Structured Credit, and/or Insurance Asset Management a plus, but not required
